Rutin is a member of bioflavonoids, and is extracted from the dry buds of Sophora japonica tree. Rutin belongs to Vitamin P family, and its main use is to treat cerebrovascular diseases, such as arteriosclerosis or high blood pressure, as rutin has powerful antioxidant function, which can fight with free radicals in the body. Its derivative is troxerutin,which is widely used in clinic for treating burning,arthritis,and cerebrovascular problems.
