Angelica extract is extracted from Angelica roots. It is used for anticholinergic, clearing away free radicals, working as an antioxidant, and it can inhibits uterus contractility. The head part of the root has more effect of blood nourishment while the tail part more provides blood circulation enhancement. Generally, whole root is to be used individually or in combination.

Angelica is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine. In folk, it is said as "a protection against contagion, or purifying the blood and for curing practically every conceivable maladies". Chinese people consider angelica secondly only to ginseng. Angelica has many remarkable medical functions, so it is usually used in treating blood deficiency, women's menstruation problems such as painful menstruation, amenorrhea, etc. It is also recommended the treatment of constipation, traumatic injury, arthritis, and some coronary diseases.
As for its other uses, such as treating heart disease, lowering cholesterol,
anti-inflammation and even cancer prevention are being found in clinic research.
